Williams Field & Lantz Fieldhouse (Indoor Batting/Practice Facility)

Renovated in the summer of 2003, Williams Field was updated to provide a fan-friendly atmosphere and quality playing facility for EIU Panther student-athletes.

Williams Field features blue chairback seating, a concession area below the press box and enclosed brick dugouts surrounded by red brick pillars that are connected by black aluminum fencing.  The softball complex also includes lights, a modern scoreboard and multiple hitting/pitching cages for both home and visiting squads.

The softball complex was named for longtime EIU benefactor and former Vice President for Student Affairs, Glenn Williams and his wife Joan.  The field was officially rededicated prior to competing against league foe Jacksonville State on the weekend of April 24-25, 2004.

The Panthers opened that 2004 season winning their first six home games, including a three-game series sweep of Morehead State. In 2011, EIU completed the best season in program history by winning the regular-season Ohio Valley Conference title to earn the right to host the six-squad, end-of-season league tournament.

Lantz Fieldhouse is a multi-purpose facility which is annually utilized as a year-round indoor practice space by Panther softball, which includes a multiple batting cage set-up.
